Message from the Embassy
American Veterans of the Korean War were honored on June 25, 2012, a date which marked the 62nd anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War. During recent outreach trips to Idaho, Missouri and Louisiana, Embassy officials visited Korean War memorials, paid tribute to veterans, and thanked them for their service and sacrifice. During Ambassador Choi's recent trip to St. Louis, Missouri, he visited the Korean War Memorial in Forest Park and laid a wreath to honor the American service members who fought to preserve freedom in Korea.
Congressional Caucus on Korea: On July 25 in Washington, D.C., the Congressional Caucus on Korea will host its annual tribute to American veterans of the Korean War on Capitol Hill. Members of the Korea Caucus, Ambassador Choi and other representatives from the Korean and Korean-American communities will pay tribute to America's Korean War veterans.
